"Going back to a simpler life based on living by sufficiency rather than excess is not a step backward. Rather, returning to a simpler way allows us to regain our dignity, puts us in touch with the land, and makes us value human contact again."

Photo by @argonautphoto (Aaron Huey). Day 9: Pangboche back up to Ama Dablam BaseCamp. This is our destination! I will be photographing my way up this mountain with a summit bid possible in 8-10 days. I decided to get back up to Ama base camp today (putting off our Island Peak acclimatization trip a few days) before the snow melts there. Heavy snow = bad for climbing, but good for photos. And so we go. Pictured here: my friend and climbing partner, the legendary Panuru Sherpa and #AmaDablam. #onassignment for @NatGeo in the #Khumbu #Himalayas #Nepal by natgeo
